Class Game Times
Teachers are expected to stay with their classes during class game time. This is not a prep. In order to support the games during recess and to be able to mediate conflict when it arises, all staff need to be on the same page and class game time is a mechanism to make that consistency happen.
You will be able to sign up for class game time next week after you have your preps scheduled.
BODIES (OPERATIONS & LOGISTICS)
Yard Reminders
All teachers are expected to walk their students out to the yard/cafeteria for recess and lunch and to the buses. Do not allow your students to walk unsupervised by an adult.
Thanks for all of your help last week in getting us off to a smooth start for recesses.
This week, please re-teach the new expectations for the yard (with the no go zones and painted areas), Peace in the Halls, and where to put your lunches.
Cafeteria- Silverware Charge
Regardless of the cost issue, the "environmentally correct" thing to do is to teach our kids to bring a spoon or fork from home.
I have asked our food services employees to stop charging our students for this week and to begin the charging policy after Labor day. This week children will be told when they ask that next week they will be charged. I will also inform parents in our newsletter.

Daily Counts- Days 10, 15, 20
Count the students in your class on Day 2, 5, 10, 15, 20.
Every child in the district is counted at the beginning of the year to confirm that the numbers we have in the data system match the numbers in our classrooms. The superintendent reports these numbers to the state and this determines our funding allocation for the year.
1. Do not count absent students, unless they have a verified absence (like you know the child is not coming to school the first week because he/she is out of town)
2. Do not count children who have never come to school or do not have a verified absence.
3. Write you count on your whiteboard by 10:15 (recess time) so that your instruction does not have to be interrupted.
