Bear News Updates

I know we still have a few weeks of summer break left, but welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! We are so excited to return to our building and launch into a new school year filled with hope and excitement. Please read through this entire newsletter carefully as there are many pieces of back to school information you will need as we begin to prepare for the start of school. Our office officially opens today (August 18th). If you are not able to find the information you need here or you need support in registering a new to Indian Hills student, please call our office: 503-844-1350.

This is our first Parent (monthly newsletter) of the school year and you may have received this directly via email or navigated from our website or social media platforms. In the next two weeks our office team will be busy enrolling new students and assigning them to classes. Once this process is complete you should receive this communication monthly. You can verify that we have the correct email by completing online verification (directions below).

My hope is that every Indian Hills family is having a wonderful summer filled with lots of meaningful connections and plenty of sun.

2022-23 School Year Calendar

Classroom teachers will be making phone calls to families between 8am and 4pm on Wednesday, August 31. These phone calls may be coming from a blocked number or a number you may not recognize. Teachers will make 2 attempts to call families before they send you an email to connect with you. During these phone calls, they will be introducing themselves as well as connecting with your family.

Parents, we are excited to invite you and your family to come see your child's classroom, meet the teacher in person and drop off your school supplies. We are asking that you come at your designated time slot so you can have more space within the classrooms and better access to the teacher. Please note, the time has been changed for this event to accommodate more families after work hours.

It is time to log in to ParentVUE to update your information. This is critical to ensure we have updated phone numbers, emergency contacts, addresses, etc. Please take 10 minutes to log in and update your information here. The steps for this process with pictures are below. Our office team appreciates your help with this!

If you are new to Indian Hills and/or HSD, ParentVue is an online parent portal. Here you can review attendance, grades, update information, etc.

Please use this link to view breakfast and lunch menus and set up an online meal account for school.

This school year we will be returning to charged, free and reduced meals. If your family would like to apply for free or reduced cost meals, we have forms in the office or you can find information here.
