Message from Mrs. Kilday
As promised, here is our next newsletter. Remember, they always come out on Sunday evenings at 5:00 pm.
Class placement letters were mailed, so if you do not receive one by Wednesday send me an email and I will get the information to you. We have a wonderful staff here at the preschool and you will hear me brag about them often. I know you will all be very happy with your child's teacher. If you have any questions about your child's IEP, if they are on one, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mary Bania, our student services coordinator at baniam@cantonma.org. She will be here all day Thursday and Friday.
On Thursday evening I will be presenting our handbook to the school committee for approval. Feel free to log on and watch! Once those are approved we will be sharing the link to the handbook with you. The handbook has some important information in it so please make sure to read it thoroughly.
I will be in most of next week and will be checking email even when I am not. Please reach out to me with any questions!
Donna
Q & A
Yes! Please send in lunch if your child is not accessing school lunch. Nurse Bailey will reach out with any food restrictions due to allergies. Please no candy or soda.
Do I need to send a snack?
We provide snack so no need to send any in to school for your child.
Is it a problem if my child is not toilet trained?
Absolutely not! Just be sure to send in diapers/pullups and wipes. Your child's teacher will work with you when you are ready to start toilet training. While I won't go so far as to say we are experts at toilet training, we sure do have a lot of experience!
What does my child need to bring to school?
Themselves, a smile, and a back pack with extra clothes.
What is the best way to reach my child's teacher?
Email is the best way, however if you need to reach us immediately call our secretary, Susan Crespi at 781-821-6=5060 x 1503. She can get a message to any of us.

News from our Food Services Director
Date: August 16, 2022
Dear Canton Families,
We want to update you with exciting news about universal free school meals. The Commonwealth of
Massachusetts has decided to extend free school meals for all students through the 2022-2023 school
year! This means that breakfast and lunch will continue to be served at no cost to all students.
Please note that even though meals will be free for all, it is very important for families to still
complete the household Application for Free and Reduced Price Meals for the 2022-2023 school year.
You can view and complete the application here. We strongly encourage ALL families to submit this
form as it allows us to establish eligibility for P-EBT benefits, waive fees for Canton Public Schools Pay and Ride Student Transportation, Athletics, Extra Curricular Activities and serve families most effectively.
In addition, please consider applying for SNAP, the federal nutrition program that provides eligible residents with monthly financial assistance to purchase groceries. More SNAP information can be found
at gettingsnap.org or by calling Project Bread’s Food Source Hotline at 1-800-645-8333.
The Canton Public Schools Food Service Department thanks you for your patience awaiting this news! As always, we are grateful for the opportunity to provide nourishing and healthy meals to all Canton Public Schools students so please reach out to us with any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Martha Lawless

The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act requires the information on this application. You do not have to give the information, but if you do not submit all needed information, we cannot approve your child for free or reduced price meals. You must include the last four digits of the social security number of the primary wage earner or other adult household member who signs thapplication. The social security number is not required when you apply on behalf of a foster child or you list a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) case number or other FDPIR identifier for your child or when you indicate that the adult household member signing the application does not have a social security number. We will use your information to determine if your child is eligible for free or reduced price meals, and for administration and enforcement of the lunch and breakfast programs.
We may share your eligibility information with education, health, and nutrition programs to help them
evaluate, fund, or determine benefits for their programs, auditors for program reviews, and law
enforcement officials to help them look into violations of program rules.
