A Message from the Principal
Dear Holy Family Catholic School Community,
Saint of the Month - St. Frances of Rome
Virtue of the Month - Patience
I recently told a perspective school family that Holy Family Catholic School has the most richly developed prayer life of any Catholic school I have served as a teacher or as an administrator. This is even truer now, during the Lenten season when we are able to gather weekly for the Stations of the Cross and Eucharistic Adoration, in addition to weekly Mass and our other regular daily prayer practices.
Here is a Lenten prayer from Creighton University’s on-line ministry site:
Lord God,
you who breathed the spirit of life within me.
Draw out of me the light and life you created.
Help me to find my way back to you.
Help me to use my life to reflect your glory
and to serve others
as your son Jesus did. Amen

Mrs. Brenda Conway’s 4th and 7th grade classes led the school in a celebration of Texas Independence Day today during Monday Morning Prayer. The celebration included a story theatre retelling the events of the Alamo (in costume!), as well as, fourth grade presentations of Alamo dioramas in the classroom. Great job students!
Special thanks to Vinny Circelli and Gavin McRae for helping Sister Teresa Saturday morning!
Sister Teresa and her dedicated helpers were busy on Saturday preparing a garden out of recycled materials. Students have been planting tiny seeds during Lent in Religion class in preparation for a bountiful spring.
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.
Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows,
it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree,
so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
Matthew 13:31-32
Many of you requested more clubs and after school activities for our students in the survey I sent out in the fall. Our teachers have talked with the students and came up with a list of clubs that some students may be interested in. Please take this survey with your child/ren and submit it by March 16th. Your response will help HFCS determine which clubs we may be able to offer next year. Here is the link to the survey: https://forms.gle/7kmjivyPmfWxiBZb7
I look forward to seeing you this Wednesday, March 4, at 7:30 am in the Pemberton Library for Coffee and Conversation! One of the things I will be sharing with you is our accreditation self-study cumulative summary which contain the goals for improvement that administration, faculty and staff surfaced over the last six months of writing our 97 page document for the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops accreditation team. The accreditation team will be visiting us from March 29 to April 1.
Lenten blessings,
Mrs. Ann Walters

Holy Family Catholic Community Ministry Fair - We Need Your Help!
Would you like to volunteer with your student to represent HFCS at the Ministry Fair of Time and Talent? And earn service hours?
It will be held the weekend of March 14 and 15 after all the Masses in Scantlin Hall. Two to three volunteers are needed after each Mass.
Please contact Lisa Griffith at 817.737.4201 or lgrffith@hfsfw.org If you would like to sign up to work the Fair.
Special thanks to Mrs. Imelda Morales for her inspirational speech at all the Sunday Masses this past weekend about the Ministry Fair and becoming involved in your parish, and particularly about Holy Family Catholic School. The icing on the cake? Her sons, current student Aaron and HFCS alum Samuel, stood behind her in support for all three Masses. Again, thank you for your unwavering support of HFCS!
