COVID Restrictions
Since last week's newsletter, the government announced an end to COVID isolation requirements, which I'm sure will come as a relief to many, but may also bring with it concerns for some that this could lead to increased transmission.
The new health guidance is clear that children should stay home when sick (as always), and that 5 days is recommended for COVID cases. It is still helpful to test, identify and report cases to us at school, which enables us to take preventative action and raise awareness for parents when there are multiple active cases in a given class or year level.
Other than that, decisions about wearing masks continue to be at parental discretion. We will continue to promote good hygiene here at school, and let you know if we have concerns you need to be aware of.
At the moment, we are experiencing high levels of general illness around school - keeping your child at home and following medical advice helps keep all students (and staff!) healthy in order to minimise disruption to learning.
Zones
I'd like to congratulate the participants in our recent Rugby Zones, at which they achieved 3rd Place (Girls' A) and 4th (under 40kg Boys).
Well done also to all those who took part in today's Netball, bringing home 1st for the Y5 A Grade, 2nd for the Y5 B's and 3rd equal for the boys' team - we're really proud of all those who stepped up to represent our school!
Thanks, as always, to our Sports Coordinator, Karen Moore, and the staff and parent volunteers who gave up their time to support and help out.
