Lord it is good for us to be here! Matthew 17:4
Our hallways are bursting with excitement in anticipation of tomorrow’s Halloween parties and Halloween festivities on Sunday. It’s nice to see the students excited for what’s to come! I look forward to seeing all the students in their Halloween costumes tomorrow. It should be a fun way to end our week!
Thank you to all parents for attending parent teacher conferences last week. I am thankful for all of your efforts to follow the procedures for our event. We appreciate your teamwork in helping us educate your children in a safe, warm environment!
In today’s blue folder, you will find your child’s school picture. As a reminder, if your child was not here on picture day or you would like to have him/her get retakes, that date is scheduled for Friday, November 12th. If you plan on having retakes, please do not cut pictures and return the picture packet on the day of retakes. If your child was not here and you need a picture order form, contact Mrs. Generous.
Honor Roll Congratulations to the following 5th-8th grade students for earning High Honor Roll for first quarter: Alex Winkeler, Tyler Grah, Kaylin Biehl, and Sophie Winkeler.
Congratulations to the following students for earning Honor Roll for first quarter: Joe Alvarez, Annastasia Gerdes, Abby Kunkelmann, Dylan Kunkelmann, Rylee Morrison, Nicholas Whitney, Lauren Lanham, Robert Pierpoint, Faith Burton, and Josh Lanham.
Keep up the good work students!
SCRIPMANIA TOTAL: We just keep rocking Scrip! Our new Scripmania Total for this week is $10,715…So now we will be giving away 4 FREE gift cards on December 6th! Keep up the GREAT work!!! We are only $1,785 away from giving away a 5th FREE gift card! Make sure to share with family and friends so that they can join in on the fun too and it can count towards your tuition! Check out the last BONUS FEST that will happen this weekend!
It looks like our 3rd grade class is still in the lead with 67% of families participating, so they are the class who would earn the Christmas pajama party with first grade in second place with 43%! If the class hits 100% participation, then that class automatically earns the Pajama Christmas Party! AND more than one class can earn the party! One Scrip order qualifies your family as participating. You can place a backpack order, order from our inventory, or place an e-card order through the app! It all qualifies for this fun incentive and earns you tuition credit!
Scrip Our next Backpack order will be Monday, November 1st. When you are buying your Halloween candy, Thanksgiving decor, and Thanksgiving food, use Scrip cards to purchase them!
Also, for the months of November and December, we will place a Scrip backpack order every Monday! So remember to purchase ahead of time to do your Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping. Or use the app for last minute purchases to use the gift card immediately! Let me know if you have any questions about this program!
Halloween Parties Our Halloween parties are TOMORROW! Preschool students may come to school in their costumes, however please send in an outfit for your son/daughter to change into before lunch if he/she is staying all day. Kindergarten through eighth grade can come to school in a Halloween shirt and free dress bottoms and bring in their costumes to change into for their Halloween party if they would like to do so. As a reminder, all costumes must be school appropriate. No weapons, blood, inappropriate logos, or makeup.
Auction Update Thank you so much for your generous donations of items for our Around the World Dinner Auction on Saturday, March 5, 2022. You can continue to bring your items to school or contact us (mfran72@aol.com/314-420-5840) and we can make arrangements to meet you to pick up your donation.
We are so close to meeting our October goal! We have committed/received 43 items, so there is still time to meet that goal of 60!
For November we are asking for your help to procure an item, certificate, ad or monetary donation from a business. Our goal is to have 60 items, certificates, or ads committed by November 30th. If we can do that as a school, I will award a special treat for all students in December! Let’s do it!
We would like all donations to be turned in no later than Tuesday, February 1, 2022. The forms are below for you to bring/email to businesses along with the donation form.
The donation form can also be filled out online at
Please sign-up on the form below once you procure your business donation.

We are also looking for volunteers to help with the following:
Classroom donation coordinator - As the coordinator you are responsible for collecting funds from the students and organizing what item your class will donate as an oral auction item.
Drink Room Coordinator - As the coordinator you are responsible for purchasing all beverages for our auction along with creating a specialty drink. Our past drink room coordinators have very detailed notes of what is involved in this process so you will have plenty of help if you choose to volunteer for this.
Donation volunteers - As the donation volunteer you would be responsible for helping filling out online donation forms and emailing businesses asking for donations. This process can be done from the comforts of your home during the months of December & January.
If you are interested in volunteering to help us with any of these opportunities, please sign-up on the link below.

Testimonials On our website we have a section dedicated to testimonials. We would love to update some quotes from our current families. If you would like to submit a testimonial, please email it to me or write it out and drop it in your blue folder. Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts and feelings about St. John the Baptist Catholic School!

Althoff News
We had a great Open House last weekend with many of your families visiting us. Our application and new website is now fully live so please share the news with your families. I have included a simple graphic you can include on electronic newsletter or emails. I will also share the directions with any 8th graders in our system so hopefully we will start seeing applications come in!
We have had a lot of your students doing shadow visits at the school as well and it's been great seeing them reconnect with upperclassmen who came from the same schools.
Please remind your teacher and front offices that electronic requests for recommendations and transcripts will start coming in soon and I greatly appreciate your help with helping your students explore Althoff Catholic.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I hope you have an amazing weekend!
Sincerely, Reeta
