Connecting to the prairie
When Jim lived with his grandparents it was a different time and way of doing things. We no longer have to struggle through harsh weather on farms as they used too. You might still have to have a few jobs to make sure everything is ready for the different weather, but its not to the extreme because of technology we have today."We were talking about what it was like to spend ones childhood in little towns like these, buried in what and corn, under stimulating extremes of climate:.....blustery winters with little snow, when the whole country is tripped bare and grey as sheet-iron"
I think it's fantastic the experience of looking for plants and discovering new things outside of our regular school life.
