You have probably have started to notice that I try to include examples of great teaching and learning that occur here at Mayfield Intermediate School in our weekly newsletter.
On Monday I had to pleasure of attending an instructional conference with Ms. Torres (6th Grade Math and Science) and Mrs. Maldonado (Instructional Math Coach). The goal of the conference was to examine the potential for Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) to be designed for STEM integration. The project will bring together national experts in teacher leadership, model-eliciting activities, science and mathematics education to develop a research agenda and plan for future projects for MEAs as part of K-6 STEM learning. This conference was hosted by George Mason University. I look forward to seeing how Ms. Torres and Mrs. Maldonado incorporate the ideas that were shared into their instructional practices.
