GFA Day
Our first annual GFA Day was a success. Elementary Students traveled to Hixson to gallery walk student independent projects which included student made plays, original music, stop motion, poetry, digital art, movies, murals and a book! Students also had the experience of listening to writer and film director David Kirkman. We also had team building activities like Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader, Trivia and a cookie decorating contest later in the afternoon. Overall it was a fun day for our program.

Clark and Hudson 4th/5th grade collaborated on a variety show designed to entertain and engage students and their families. This is part of an ongoing project in which the show link is shared with families to enjoy at home. Students learned about all aspects of putting together a Show and the use of technology that goes with that.
At Clark, Ms. Recke and 5th grade student Sidney have been working together on a reusable bag project to help reduce the number of plastic bags being used. Freddie’s Market is interested in working with us to move forward with this project. As Sidney moves on, we will pass this onto incoming 5th grade students, but we will keep Sidney involved as much as we can.
Hudson - 4th and 5th grade students at Clark and Hudson worked together to create a “variety show” designed to entertain and engage students and their families. The students learned so much about how to film, edit, schedule, create sets, etc. After our red carpet premiere party,
