As the principal/head of school of Longfellow Middle School, I am pleased to welcome you to the start of the 2021-2022 school year! I hope everyone has had a rejuvenating summer break despite the obstacles of the pandemic, and I hope you are all ready to return to classes. Our faculty and staff have been working diligently to prepare for students’ return to school. No challenge has been too great for us to take on because, as our motto for the year states, “With our armor of resilience, Spartans will rise!”
As an International Baccalaureate World School, our primary goals at Longfellow continue to be the pursuit of academic excellence through intentional teaching and learning and the development of our students as informed, open-minded, globally-aware thinkers and leaders. This commitment is reflected in our campus vision statement: “Longfellow Middle School strives to cultivate a collaborative learning environment with high expectations for all Spartans, resulting in the development of independent lifelong learners and successful global leaders.”
I am looking forward to working with everyone – our students, parents, guardians, faculty, and staff – as we navigate the school year ahead. Preparing our students for the future is a team effort, and, in recognition of this truth, I pledge to work with all of our Spartan stakeholders whenever making important decisions. In addition, I plan to be transparent in the execution of my duties as principal, and conscientious about keeping the best interests of our students foremost in my mind when making difficult choices. With this inclusive, academic-focused, student-centered approach, I have no doubt that Longfellow will exceed expectations and be a top-rated campus.
I am looking forward to the many Spartan successes to come!
