A Peek at Our Week

Hello Families!

This week is shaping up to be filled with wonder and joy in learning. Our chicken eggs are about to arrive and we will observe and record the changes as they grow from eggs to baby chicks. We are also becoming expert bird watchers thanks to the garden opportunities we have enjoyed with Ms. Priscilla. We love learning about the world right outside our door!

A few pics to share...

Reminder- Please bring in a cap that can be kept at school & apply sunscreen in the morning as we are spending more time outdoors

Fundations and Word Study

Our class continues to explore long vowels! This week we are working on -ight and -ite patterns. Be on the lookout for additional homework that helps your child recognize long vowel patters this week. Our trick words continue to help us grow stronger in our reading and writing so please make sure to practice them nightly!

What are we Reading?

This week we began The Chocolate Touch. The kids drift off to a magical place each day as we imagine what it must be like for everything we touch to turn to chocolate- It sets the stage for our upcoming persuasive writing unit just perfectly!

Happy Reading!

*Please be aware that I summarize some of the text for language when needed
