Principal's Message
If you are dropping your children off PAST 9:05AM you MUST PARK YOUR CAR AND WALK YOUR CHILDREN to door 1. We don't want our students walking across the parking lot alone.
Additionally, YOU MUST PARK YOUR CAR because the front of the school is a fire lane for the fire department but it is also USED DAILY FOR OUR BUSES. Our late buses often pull into our school parking lot/driveway and are blocked by cars stationed at the front of the school with no driver inside the car. PLEASE PARK YOUR CARS AND WALK YOUR CHILDREN TO THE DOOR FOR SAFETY! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP AND UNDERSTANDING!
We have hired a new Vice Principal, Ms. Gizelle Lev, please read more about her below! We are excited for her to join the Barbieri Community starting Monday, 1/31. Please join me in welcoming Ms. Lev to our school! Ms. Lev will oversee Kindergarten, Grade 2 and Grade 5. We will share her contact information once it has been assigned.
Gracias a todos,
Maria
-NEW- Vice Principal, Ms. Gizelle Lev
Ms. Gizelle Lev joins Barbieri Elementary as our new Vice Principal. She started her 20+ year career as a Fourth Grade Teacher and Math Coach at the Benjamin Banneker Charter and the Cambridgeport Schools in Cambridge. She went on to serve as the K-5 Math Specialist at the Hardy Elementary School in Wellesley. Raised in Argentina in a Filipino household and sent to American International Schools, Ms. Lev grew up trilingual (Spanish, Filipino, and English). While her prior work has not tapped into her Spanish skills, Ms. Lev has an advanced level of Spanish and is certain that she will regain her fluency once immersed in the Barbieri community. The daughter of a Philippine Ambassador and a High School Spanish teacher, Ms. Lev grew up with exposure to diverse cultures, values, and beliefs. She holds Masters Degrees in Educational Leadership / Policy Studies, and Teaching and Learning, from Boston University and Wheelock College. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Applied Psychology from Boston College. She is excited to join Barbieri! Ms. Lev will oversee Kindergarten, Grade 2 and Grade 5.
