The Wolf Howl
Week of 4/22/16
Six More Weeks
Let's end our school year being WOLF STRONG and positive - cheerful to each other, positive to our students, and patient with our parents. I challenge you to look to find the good in every situation and the silver lining in every cloud. It's always there, if we just focus on it!

Great Science/Math and Future Problem Solvers Performances at State Level
Math/Science: we had 6th and 7th place team results with several of our students scoring in the top ten in the state! And we have a big state! Thank you to Elizabeth and Trish for coaching these students all year!
Future Problem Solvers: Project Buzz and Project Safe both qualified for International competition in Michigan. Also joining us in Michigan will be one Global Issues team made up of sixth graders. Way to go Karen, for being a great FPS coach!

Wolf Howls
Lisa G sends a grateful howl to Stephanie Chance for always knowing what to do and getting it done. She has been great at taking care of tutoring items for Lisa and Amy!
Lisa gives loud, loud, loud howls to Barbara, Robin, and Amy K. for awesome 8th grade reading STAAR results! Over 90% of our 8th graders passed the first time! These are incredible results, with only a handful who need to take it again!
Lisa gives huge mathematical howls to Sherri and Elizabeth for great STAAR results for our 8th grade math students! We had almost 80% of our students pass - we just need a few more to pass the next testing date! Howls to Beth and Amber for great results for their 7th grade accelerated students too!
Callie gives a HUGE wolf howl to Bridget who made copies of nearly 100 permission forms for me to keep for her records!! The choir department would not survive without Bridget!
Lisa D. howls for Beth, Amy D., and Robin for completing a year of VALOR and being honored and recognized for their teaching excellence last week at the VALOR banquet!
Amy D. howls to all the chaperones for making the George Bush Library field trip a success, and working together to help when a student needed medical attention. We were a wolf pack!
Lisa G. howls HUGE celebration howls to Amy Keith for working tirelessly day in and day out with students who have the cards stacked against them to pass reading STAAR. Amy dedicates herself as a learner and translates what she learns into her teaching practice. The result? Kids benefit. Lisa am proud to work with such an incredible teaching colleague!
Callie sends Wolf Howl to Kim Ware and Stephanie Chance who work so hard to find coverage for teachers who often find themselves sick at the last minute and who don't get subs. Thank you!
Lisa G. howls out to the social studies team for a fantastic PLC – authentic, heartwarming, and real! She loves when a team can develop a level of trust and vulnerability with each other to do meaningful work as learners and as teachers!
