March Forth: A Month of Giving to the EAHS Band and Orchestra

There are THREE ways to make a donation:
- The IMA website (www.eahsmusic.org) – donate & pay all online!
- Paper form (check/ cash) – attached to this email

50% of any contributions received for the March Forth campaign that are affiliated with a marching band student can go towards their trip contributions. Unfortunately, we are not able to have any Facebook contributions count towards student contribution goals.

The deadline to return the application is Wednesday, April 6, 2022. We look forward to reading your application.

Class Scheduling (2022 - 2023 School Year)
BAND:
- Students currently in 9th grade or Block 01 concert band should schedule BAND next year. There are no grade specific labels (Band 10, Band 11, etc.) for next year.
- Students who play both in band & orchestra should schedule two separate classes (BAND & STRING ENSEMBLE).
- Place the ensemble in the first spot under your electives.
- If you think you may have a potential scheduling conflict, let Mr. Ballentine know as there are many solutions (health 10, languages, etc.)
- Students in wind ensemble currently should schedule wind ensemble for next year. Students who wish to be considered for wind ensemble but are not currently enrolled in the course should schedule BAND. Auditions for wind ensemble will take place in February.
- Students currently in 9th grade or Block 01 symphony orchestra should schedule STRING ENSEMBLE next year. There are no grade specific labels (STRINGS 10, STRINGS 11, etc.) for next year.
- Place the ensemble in the first spot under your electives.

Dinners for Pit Orchestra
Donations can be dropped off in the band room according to the slots on the signup. If you'd prefer to make a monetary donation instead, please reach out to Jennifer Smith (familysmith99@gmail.com).

Musical Concession Stand
Once again this year we will be selling snacks and drinks at each of the Easton Area High School Musical performances of the 42nd Street. Please consider donating an item and/or volunteering to help during one of the performances. If you'd prefer to make a monetary donation that can be used to purchase items needed instead, please reach out to Jennifer Smith (familysmith99@gmail.com).
Non-perishable donations can be brought to the band room throughout the week, or latest by Thursday night between 5:15 and 8:00 pm.

Snacks Needed for upcoming Parades!
Meeting Recap - (Feb. 22)
Reminders:
- NYC Trip Forms are due Monday, February 28
- March Forth Campaign & Shammy Shine Gift Cards end on Friday, March 04
- Please see the IMA calendar for the marching band rehearsals for the NYC trip
- Students will be signing up for buses for the NYC trip this week.
New Business:
- Any medication that a student needs for NYC should be brought on Thursday, March 17. The medication must be in the original bottle. It then must be placed in a clear ziploc bag with the student's name, grade & section. A student must have a medication administration form on file in order for this to be administered.
- Medications needed for the DC trip will need to be dropped off at a pre-determined date/ time. This will be announced when the trip gets closer.
- All students attending the Washington DC/ Apple Blossom Parade should have already registered online via Music Travel Consultants.
- If you wish to purchase the optional travel insurance, please see the attached file below. This insurance can be purchased for $21 via the Music Travel Consultants account that you registered for (see above). This is the only thing you would pay NOT to the IMA.

The Shammy Shine Car Wash Gift Card Fundraiser is back!
What is it?
The IMA is selling $10, $25, and $50 Shammy Shine gift cards. The IMA earns 30% on every gift card sold.
Students attending the Washington D.C./ Shenandoah Apple Blossom Tour will be able to apply 50% of the profits from each card they sell towards their March contribution!
Sale Dates:
The sale will run February 14 – March 4, 2022. Sale details and order forms can be found on the IMA website. Gift cards can be used at any Shammy Shine location and they never expire (Locations and available services can be found at http://www.shammyshine.com).
If you do not wish to order online, please submit your tally sheet with one check payable to “IMA” in an envelope marked “Car Wash Fundraiser” and place it in the Fundraiser Box in the Instrumental Room. (The Student Form is for students to track their orders.)
All orders are DUE no later than Friday, March 4, 2022.
Gift card pick up will be the week of March 14 at EAHS.

Saturday, April 2: EAHS Jazz Festival
The finals round for the Steel Stacks Jazz Festival is Sunday, March 27 pending acceptance.
Spring Craft Show 2022 is coming up!
We’re excited to host our annual spring craft show on Saturday, March 26 from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Easton Area High School.
- Over 100 crafters and vendors are registered for the show
- Expect some good eats at the food court
- This public event is a big fundraiser for the IMA
IMA chaperones and volunteers needed
The IMA relies on the participation of its members to chaperone student events and to support and organize fundraising events. All IMA members with ACT 153 clearances on file with the Easton Area School District are eligible to participate as a chaperone or volunteer.
