2023 - The Year of the Rabbit!
We are excited to share that P.F. Chang's in Freehold will display some of our Kindergarten and First Grade students’ artwork in their restaurant for the Lunar New Year which begins on January 22nd. As a thank you, P.F. Chang's has shared free kid’s meal coupons with all of our Kindergarten and First Grade students! The coupons are valid from Sunday, January 22nd - February 5th, 2023 to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. All artwork will also be uploaded to Artsonia. Special thanks to our art teacher, Ms. Cook, who assisted our youngest artists!
Winter Weather
It is important your child is dressed appropriately for the weather and is prepared to play outside. Outdoor recess is an important and valuable part of our students’ day. Fresh air, exercise and time spent outdoors afford students a break from the structure of the classroom.
Cold weather clothing allows our students to enjoy being outdoors even when the temperature drops! Please talk to your child about the importance of wearing their jacket/coats outdoors. Thank you!
One District, One Book!
We know that a child’s positive relationship with literacy provides the basis for a lifetime of learning. This program supports reading together at home and learning together at school. Help us build our home - school connection by setting aside time each week to read aloud with your child.
Take a look at West Freehold School's The Wild Robot Website for information about the book. Be on the lookout for more information as we kick off this special reading event on February 1st!

Important Message From WFS School Nurse, Ms. DeVito
Cold and Flu Season has begun! To prevent the spread of colds and flu in the school, we recommend that your child stay home from school if experiencing flu or cold symptoms. In addition, we have had a number of pink-eye infections at West Freehold School. Our custodians have been kept busy with heavy duty daily cleaning in classrooms as well as our common areas but we need your help with being on the lookout for pink-eye symptoms at home. Thank you!
Reporting a Student Absence
Next, in order to formally document the student absence and have it considered as an excused absence, a Parent Absence Form must be completed and submitted to the WFS Main Office. These forms are filed and stored as required by the state.
Thank you for your help and understanding!
Important Information About Bus Transportation
