Woodrow Wilson was the 28th president and president during world war 1. He is important because he severed as a great leader during the progressive movement. He also wrote the 14 points that convinced the other nations not to punish Germany to severely.

The Spanish american war was a war between the U.S. and Spain. This is important because until this point the U.S. wasn't really well known as a country however after defeating Spain the other nations became aware the U.S. can be a world power. The U.S. also gained Guam and Puerto Rico
