Latin America Overview
Latin America at a glance
The Economy of Mexico
Mexico is the 15th largest economy in the world! The top three trading partners of Mexico are the United States, Canada, and China. Mexico, the United States, and Canada are all in NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). A major import to Mexico is refined petroleum from the United States, while one major export from Mexico is vehicles to the U.S. The literacy rate of Mexico in 2013 was 93.96%, which means that 93.96% of the people in Mexico 15 years old and above can read and write, and the gross domestic product of Mexico in 2013 was 1.261 trillion in U.S dollars.
Oil Pollution in Venezuela
Venezuela is one of the largest producers of oil in the world, but that does not come without a price. Venezuela's once beautiful coast has become polluted with oil. Oil spills and tanker leaks have damaged the environment in Venezuela greatly. Luckily, some people in Venezuela are becoming aware that the oil pollution is getting to great. They are trying to find solutions to the problem, like using renewable resources and charging fines on people that spill oil.
Government of Cuba
Cuba is an island in the Caribbean. The country is a autocracy government led by Raul Castro. We don't know when Raul Castro's leadership will come to an end, because there is no length of term in an autocracy government. The length of term can be how long the current leader wants it to be. A current issue of Cuba's government is that there is only one person has complete power.
Physical Features of Brazil
There are many physical features in Brazil, but the most famous of all is the Amazon Rainforest. The Amazon Rainforest is a rainforest in northwestern Brazil, and is the world's largest tropical rainforest! Located in the Amazon Rainforest is the Amazon River. The Amazon River is the second largest river in the world. A physical feature in Brazil that I would like to visit is Iguazu Falls. Iguazu Falls are waterfalls from the Iguazu River. I would like to visit Iguazu Falls because it is very beautiful and different from most waterfalls.
