ACT Prep for Juniors (Sign-Up NOW!!!)
We are going to use several ACT Prep resources this year. The first that I want you to sign up for is https://www.prepfactory.com/u/vBok0. Once you are logged in, take the pre-assessment! From that point, the program should guide you with areas that need some additional practice.
The second site is https://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the-act/test-preparation.htm. You will need to scroll down the ACT site and click on the blue box that says "Start Practicing with ACT Academy". ACT offers a question-a-day, practice tests, and other resources once you register your profile.

OECHS Open House for Freshmen and Sophomores: September 19th (4:30-6:30)
OVA Classes
Many of our students have completed high school courses while in middle school. We highly encourage students that have completed high school courses, such as English I and Math II, to take the honors-level course at OECHS to be better prepared for the rigors of upper-level and college math courses.
Students that have had World History or Earth Science in middle school will take AP World History and AP Environmental Science at OECHS. Students will be able to earn a significant boost to their GPA, earn additional college credits, and enhance their transcripts for college recruitment and selection.
Those that have taken English I or Math II that prefer to take an alternative course have the option of taking an honors-level course through Onslow Virtual Academy. This year, OECHS students can take Physics Honors, Forensic Science Honors, Anatomy and Physiology Honors, Psychology Honors, and Sociology Honors.
Contact Mr. Strope at 910-938-6701 or james.strope@onslow.k12.nc.us to discuss registration for an OVA honors-level class!
Microwaves and Keurigs
Students also have access to our Keurig. WIth more students at OECHS this year, a second machine is needed for our growing population. If you have an older (but working) Keurig that you are willing to donate, our kids will put it to good use!
