Principal Points
It's hard to believe that we are once again at the end of a year...2019 literally flew by! It was great to end the year on an upbeat note with our Winter Concert. Ms. Cumberland (music teacher) and Ms. Lindberg (art teacher) are to be commended for their collaborative effort into putting on such a great show. Also, a thank you to our staff who gave up time with their families to ensure a successful concert for their students.
I know that this can be a stressful time of year for many families, but I certainly hope you are feeling supported by Lincoln Elementary. Following, you may find some results of our Title One Engagement Question of the Month. I want to thank many for such positive feedback. Mrs. Karpinsky (social worker) and Ms. Poncek (counselor) have certainly gone above and beyond to seek out resources for our families of need and it's appreciated that many families noted that.
As we begin a new year, I would like to continue to work collaboratively with parents to ensure the best education of their child/ren. If I can ever be of service, please don't hesitate to reach out either by stopping in, emailing, or calling.
Yours in partnership,
Colleen Whooley Jepson, Principal
IMPORTANT!
Question of the Month
Some of the feedback we received:
Helping families cope with homelessness and struggling to make ends meet. (Did you know that Lincoln is blessed to have a social worker - Mrs. Karpinsky - and counselor - Ms. Poncek, who will work to support student families' and have knowledge of community resources? Reach out to either should your family need extra support.)
Therapy dogs (Did you know two of our school district's officers have therapy dogs that they have brought in schools on occasion to support students experiencing high trauma?)
Make sure all communication gets delivered to the correct address. (It is parent responsibility to keep us informed of change in address and phone number. Class Dojo is another way to stay in touch with more daily classroom happenings. I would encourage all parents to sign up if they have not.)
Newer Playground Policy
Presently our site contains information on PBIS as well.
