What are you doing to serve?

What are you doing to serve this summer? Serve Sacramento loves to celebrate what God’s people and good people are doing in the region. We are doing everything in order to encourage YOU to serve by surfacing great stories about what is already happening every day in big and small ways by people just like you! If your family, church or small group is planting a community garden, implementing a back pack drive, preparing meals for families in need, or serving in any other way, we want to hear about it! Below are a few stories of service that have come in over the last few months. And, if you're not serving someone right now, check out our online regional calendar or download Gelper to find a way YOU can serve this summer. Together we can cover our region with acts of love and service so others can see and experience the love and presence of Jesus.

Serving with you,

Megan McCleary

Stories of Service: ARCC Paints a House

On Saturday May 23rd, 16 members of American River Community Church got to work prepping a house for paint for a family in Citrus Heights. They did yard work, repaired dry rot, caulked cracks and pressure washed the house. The project concluded on May 25th with the 1200 square foot house getting a brand new paint job. The house really needed paint and the family is so grateful! Thank you to everyone involved in making this project a success and for this great demonstration of love! Stories of Service: FUMC Hosts a County Fair

On Saturday April 25th, Faith United Methodist Church in Yuba City hosted a Country Fair for friends and neighbors in the community. Fifty volunteers came together to treat over 250 guests to the 25 activities they had available. FUMC also had some teens volunteer from the local high school who wanted to earn community service hours for Key Club. A teen who volunteered because her friend was in the church’s youth group mentioned that after spending the day helping us out, it was the first time she felt so connected to a church. FUMC was even able to bless the community by providing free Barbecue lunches to all of the guest. Thank you to everyone who came out to serve, love and be a blessing to the Yuba City community!
