Notes from the Principal

It was a wonderful time last week meeting and visiting with you all at the Open House! We are looking forward to seeing our students bright and early tomorrow morning! Remember to drop off your child no earlier than 8:15 am on the school playground. You may use the Carl Street cul-de-sac or the south parking lot. If you use the south parking lot, you must walk your children to the playground.

At the end of the day, last names that begin with A-L will be picked up at the front circle drive and M-Z will be picked up at the Carl Street cul-de-sac.

And last, please make sure you are connected with your child's Canvas account. Grades 1-5, you should have received a piece of paper with a QR code and a pairing code to connect. It is as easy at that! Kindergarten families, please look for this paper in the first week of school.

"Interested in Joining Cub Scouts?

Cub Scout Pack 400 will be hosting an Open House welcoming event at the school on Thursday, September 14 between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm. It will be a fun event with activities for the kids and provide your family with a nice introduction to their Scouting program. Interested families will have the opportunity to join that evening! Pack 400 welcomes all boys and girls from Kindergarten through 5th grade to participate, and meetings are generally held on Monday evenings at Riverview throughout the school year. Scouting is a great way to teach your kids useful life skills, develop character and help them learn to lead, all while having fun with their peers and your family. The Pack just celebrated its 50th Anniversary last year, so there is a long tradition of scouting with this group. There are guaranteed to be lots of fun adventures and exciting events on the calendar this year, so come check it out!

If you aren't able to make the event, or have questions before or after, please feel free to contact Cubmaster Kevin Townshend at or call/text (414) 750-8011."

News from the Health Room

Welcome back and I hope you all had a fun and relaxing Summer Break!

Here are just a few health reminders as we get going for our 2023-2024 school year.

Please remember: It is the policy of the Wausau School District to provide a safe environment for students with known, diagnosed food allergies that are likely to result in an anaphylactic reaction or serious food intolerance. Foods containing nuts (including coconut) are permitted only in the cafeteria.

When bringing in treats for the classroom please remember they need to be store bought and nut free along with the ingredient label attached.

Also keep in mind WSD has a policy on latex when sending goody bags or bringing balloons for special occasions: Latex is a potentially serious health threat for some people. Allergic reactions to latex can range from mild to fatal. The Wausau School District is a latex-safe environment. Latex products (including latex balloons) should not be used in any school building.

Please open and read the attachments below to learn about the Medication Protocols that we follow if at any time your student may need to take medication here at school and our Communicable Disease Protocol that we follow if your child should become ill.

If you have any questions during the school year please do not hesitate to reach out to me. My email is or the health office phone is (715) 261-0035. Thank You.
