Weekly Update #10

A Week In Review

Last week we recognized Remembrance Day with an assembly in the Senior Gym and by watching the CBC live-feed of the service in Ottawa. We talked about ways that we can show peace and kindness in our classroom.

We continued to explore the 3 Billy Goats Gruff and Goldilocks stories, and discussed ways that the characters can make better choices for solving their problems.

Finally, on Thursday, we took our second hike to Grenadier Pond. It was a little bit more difficult than last time, given the SNOW! But we continue to be so impressed by the endurance that our students show each day.

It has also been great for Ms Lim and I to sit down with each of you to chat about your children. We are so lucky to have such wonderful students and supportive parents. Interviews continue this week.

Red Week

This week we will be exploring the colour red around us. To help us, please send in pictures of red objects that we can add to our colour wall. Thanks

Weekly Walk

Thank you to Finnley's mom, Madeleine, and Tori's mom, Kathy, who joined us for our High Park hike on Thursday. This week, we are scheduled to go for a Hillside Garden walk on Monday morning. However, given that we just did our High Park walk our last school day, we will let the children decide if they are up for a walk, or if they'd rather just do journals about High Park.

Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather! We will be going outside!

Thank you to Jude's mom, Charise, for doing our laundry this weekend.

If you are available to help clean picnic blankets this coming weekend, please let me know via email.

Please remember to return Zippies, Poetry Folders, and Library Books on Monday
