District Closed December 1st
The Republic High School football team will play for its first-ever state championship on Friday, December 1, at 7:00 p.m. in Columbia! The Republic School District will be closed on Friday, December 1 as many of our students, staff and families will be making the trip to the game. STRIPES 360 childcare will not be available on Friday, as many of the employees of that program are either college students who have classes during the day, or are Republic High School students who will attend the game. Families enrolled in STRIPES 360 or Republic Early Childhood Center will be credited for the day of tuition they’ve already paid. In celebration of this historic event, Thursday, November 30 will be a district-wide spirit day! All staff and students are encouraged to wear RepMO gear to school! For those planning to attend the game, tickets are available for purchase here. Spectator information is available here.
Wellness Checklist
While we know the importance of students being in school, we also want to create a safe and healthy learning environment. We understand absences may be required due to illness. We have created a Wellness Checklist, which is available for download here, for families to utilize when considering any symptoms their student might be experiencing before heading to school.
Students should stay home if they have a persistent cough, temperature over 100 degrees, vomiting or diarrhea, pink or crusty eyes, or instructions from a doctor to stay away from others. Students can head to school if they have been without any of these symptoms for 24 hours. We also welcome students who have a runny nose or slight cough, but no other symptoms. These are the procedures by which the Republic School District operated through its wellness policy before the COVID-19 pandemic, and has continued to emphasize in the years since.
If a student is sick and unable to come to school, families should notify their building's front office as soon as possible.
The Republic School District cares about the mental well-being of our students, and we have learned that students who miss school actually tend to feel more anxious and stressed due to falling being. Families can help lower stress on students by encouraging attendance when students aren't sick.

From District Office:
As we approach the winter weather season, we would like to remind elementary families of procedures for school cancellations. In the event schools need to close due to severe winter weather, the Republic School District will either implement a traditional "snow day" or Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) Day. This school year, Chromebooks will not be sent home nightly with elementary students throughout the winter months, unless a winter storm is in the forecast. On days when it is necessary, families will receive communication from the district that leaders are watching the weather and that Chromebooks may be going home with students. If an AMI Day is necessary, families and students will receive additional instructions for at-home learning.
Badges
At Schofield Elementary, students can earn badges for positive behavior and showing leadership skills as a class or individually. These are generally earned for showing leadership skills or displaying good behavior as a whole. Our next class goal is to earn 200 badges!
