Very Important Information:
1. Cultures Around the World Project DUE ON FRIDAY!
I am looking forward to our project presentations this Friday. If your child has created a powerpoint, make sure you email it to me! I can't wait to see the hard work our students have put into their Cultures Around the World projects.
2. Homework Packet
This week your student is coming home with a regular homework packet. A copy of their homework packet can always be found under their Math section on FSA Connect.
3. Watch Out for Germs!
This past week we have had a handful of students out with various stomach bugs and viruses. Please keep an eye on your child during this seasonal transition. Please remember that if your child displays symptoms such as a fever or vomiting, they need to be symptom-free for 24 hours before they can return to school. Thanks for your help in keeping FSA healthy!
4. S.T.E.A.M. Camp at FSA
Make sure you check out the information Mr. Sener sent about the summer camp opportunities here at FSA. This is a fun way to spend a few weeks of the summer learning and exploring!

Curriculum Corner
Reading/Language Arts:
This week we will be reading a story called Bad Dog, Dodger. We will practice identifying and writing about the plot and the theme of stories. We will also be working hard on written responses. Students should always be repeating/rephrasing the question when they write their answer. Throughout the week we will focus on plot, theme, dictionary skills, and summarizing.
Ms. P's Math Class:
We are moving on to Chapter 11: Money! Many of our students are already familiar with Money, so this will be a quick chapter. We will be solving real-world problems by adding and subtracting using bills and coins, changing coins to the proper amount of bills, and writing money correctly using a dollars and cents sign. We will work hard all week. Our assessment is scheduled for Monday, March 28th. If I feel we need a bit more time after this week, I will postpone.
Ms. Minor's Math Class:
Ms. Minor's math class is continuing their unit study on fractions. Students should work on study island this week in addition to the homework packet to reinforce their knowledge on reducing fractions, identifying equivalent fractions, comparing fractions with unlike denominators, and adding and subtracting fractions! This topic requires much practice! Check our study island for practice!
Science:
This week we are starting our Solar System chapter! We will be learning so much about our Solar System, and I know your students are EXTREMELY excited!
Social Studies:
Culture Projects are due on FRIDAY! We will spend all Friday afternoon presenting. I cannot wait! Earlier in the week, we will practice comparing and contrasting different cultures. We are almost done with our Culture chapter.
