Child Care Fundraiser

Raffle tickets are on sale for a fabulous weekend on Flathead Lake. This package, valued at $1400, includes three nights (June 14 - 16, 2019) in a cozy house on Flathead Lake plus a half-day guided fishing trip (Saturday). The house sleeps up to 9 people and has a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, a dock on the lake, and a firepit to cook those s'mores. Raffle tickets are $10 each or 3 for $25. Don’t miss out!! The winning ticket will be drawn on Mother’s Day, May 12.

The teachers have been handing out tickets for you to sell to your friends and family. We are asking each family to sell at least 10 tickets. The proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards improving security at our facilities. Thank you for our help!

Week of the Young Child (WOYC)

We will once again be participating in the Week of the Young Child. This year it will be April 8-12. Week of the Young Child is a national celebration to celebrate early learning, young children, their teachers, and families. We will have artwork on display at the mall all through the week. The days will be themed as follows:

Music Monday: Sing, dance, celebrate and learn

Tasty Tuesday: Healthy eating and fitness at home and school

Work Together Wednesday: Work together, build together, learn together

Artsy Thursday: Think, problem solve, create

Family Friday: Sharing family stories

Field trips for each group have been included in the schedule below.

Books and Breakfast

On Friday, April 12 we will be having "Books and Breakfast" in each classroom. This is a time for you to come have some breakfast with your child and then read a book together. Breakfast will be available 7:00-9:00 AM in a buffet type setting. We will be providing continental breakfast items such as muffins, breads, fruits and coffee. We will also have some books for you to choose from, or you can bring a favorite book from home. We hope all of you can attend this event with your child.

Baskin Robbins

We will be walking to Baskin Robbins in the afternoon to get a single scoop of ice cream. We would like to invite all families to join us on this field trip. Either you can walk with us, or you can meet us there. We will be walking in two separate groups which will be scheduled as follows:

Spring Clean-up Day

On Saturday, May 4, we will be having a special day to clean up all of the centers and make any needed improvements. The Clean-up is scheduled for 8:30-1:30 with lunch provided for all participants. We greatly appreciate any and all help offered during this time. Watch for a sign-up sheet to choose an area where you would prefer to help. Or, if you have noticed any special projects that need attention, please talk to JeAnne or Amy in the office.

Immunization Update

When your child receives new immunizations, please bring those records in to the office. We must keep immunizations up to date on all children. Our records are checked yearly to make sure all children are current. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Sick Policy Changes

In accordance with what the schools in the area adhere to, we have decided to make some changes to our sick policy. Here is the new policy with the change highlighted:

"Health:

Trinity Lutheran Child Care Center is not licensed to accept sick children. Children who arrive at the center in ill health will be asked to return home. We will do a daily health check upon arrival of each child. This is a casual observation of your child and we look for overall wellness, not for signs to exclude them. If the child is too ill to participate in our daily activities, including outdoor time, then the child is too ill to be at the center. Children who have been sick will not be admitted into the center unless they are completely over their illness and no longer contagious. For the protection of all the children and our staff, your child must be kept at home if signs of illness are showing such as:

a. Temperature of 100 degrees or more with at least one other symptom of illness including but not limited to runny nose, congestion, sore throat, loss of appetite, lethargic, rash, etc.

(must be fever free without medication for 24 hours before returning)

b. Sore or discharging eyes, ears, or throat"

c. Intestinal disturbance, diarrhea or vomiting

(must be free of symptoms for 24 hours before returning)

d. Any signs of head lice/nits

(must be treated with minimum OTC kit before returning - no home remedies)
