Husky Teacher News Flash
Week of December 18-22, 2017
Teachers remain committed to the WIG
Creating a cadence of accountability is critical to reaching the end goal of increasing reading and writing scores. Teachers meet in their PLC (planned learning communities) groups weekly to discuss their commitments to the goal. Discussions on whether the commitments were met, what needs to be changed, and incorporating new ideas in to lessons.
It is heart-warming to see how hard teachers are working toward improving students' thinking and the confidence which allowing students to take the lead on their learning has created.

December Teacher of the Month
Mrs. Vieregge teaches 7th grade Language Arts at HMS. She has taught here for 1 year but has been in the teaching field for a total of 5 years.
Mrs. Vieregge likes to play with her two little boys, read, watch TV, and hang out with friends and family.
Mrs. Vieregge was chosen because her students feel that she tries to make the work in class interesting to get the students motivated. She is also a nice and funny teacher who makes them laugh. Mrs. Vieregge expects all of her students to respect each other and she doesn’t tolerate students being unkind to each other.

Helping with Stress
As we end the school year, we are all feeling the stress of those preparations. Getting exams ready, updating grades, tutorials, lessons which implement increases in reading and writing, WIGs, lead measures, absent students, and then all the shopping we still haven't done.
Know that you're hard work is noted and very much appreciated. The holidays are only a few days away.
