Principal Message - March 14, 2016
I hope this message finds you well! I must say March is cruising along and students are still hard at work exploring and growing! The momentum from January (The Kindness Challenge) and February (Read Across America) is still filling the hallways and classrooms and we all are looking forward to Spring Break and a well deserved rest.
The teachers and I would like to thank all families that assisted students in the reading challenge during Read Across America week. The school goal was 16,000 minutes and students CRUSHED it! Students read for well over 22,000 minutes!!!
Also the window project is well underway. The transformation is unbelievable! Thank you to the Middlesex Board of Education, Dr. Madison, and Mr. Mulvey, Director of Building and Grounds, for overseeing the project! Also a shout-out to students, teachers, staff, and families for their cooperation!
As the weather begins to improve and we all develop spring fever, please continue to discuss with your child the importance of good manners and staying focused in school. The work is becoming more challenging and the urge to daydream increases as the weather gets nicer. If you should have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact your child's classroom teacher. Our doors at Hazelwood Elementary School are always open.
