St Bernadette's Term 2 Update
29th April 2022
Term 2 begins on Monday and we are in the Orange traffic light.
Kia ora koutou,
As you will know New Zealand is now in the Orange traffic light in our Covid Response.
We have always hoped that the good work we have all done in Term 1 will mean that Term 2 has the chance to be a bit more normal.
Once again I want to thank you all for all you have done to keep our community safe through this Omicron wave. You have all been incredibly good at keeping kids home when they were sick and testing to make sure we were not spreading it around the school. Thank you! We are grateful to you all.
We will begin our term with a Pōwhiri to welcome those who have not been able to be officially welcomed since we have been unable to gather together.
In Orange, mask wearing is still strongly encouraged. As a school team we will continue to use masks, ventilation, hand hygiene and good cough etiquette, as our main way of protecting each other. Heading into this winter and the flu season, we will be doing all we can to continue to keep each other safe. Please continue to keep your children home if they are unwell.
We are excited to welcome you back on site. We will go back to everyone finishing at 3pm and parents are welcome to wait in the school grounds for their children. We would still appreciate you keeping your distance from other peoples children. If you are coming inside you will still need to sign in at the office and we would appreciate you wearing a mask.
Enjoy the last weekend of the holidays.
We look forward to seeing everyone back at school and ready for learning on Monday 2nd May with the usual start time of 8.50am.
Ngā mihi nui,
Jo Buckley
