Principal's Letter
Panther Families,
O.E. - This week many of our 6th Graders took the trip they have eagerly been waiting for and we could not have asked for better weather. Mr. Lipinski and I enjoyed visiting them on Thursday and we can't wait to hear all their stories when they return. Here is a glimpse at some of the fun so far.

Conferences: Online scheduling for conferences will open at 9:00 am on February 28th and close at 4:00 pm on March 13th. Conferences will be held in person on Thursday, March 14th & via Zoom on Friday, March 15th. Links will be emailed before the conferences. See Detailed instructions on how to sign up online. Please make certain that you have the correct link before your conferences, and enter the virtual waiting room just a couple of minutes before your scheduled time. This will ensure our conferences are run on time for all.
*** If you need a translator, it is important that you let our office know as soon as possible. Please email smaloney@cusd201.org.
5 Essentials - We value your feedback! For us to receive our parent feedback on the 5 Essentials, we need 20% of our families to TAKE THE SURVEY. Currently, we are at 8%!
As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness.
8th Grade Honor Roll - The 8th grade team recognized their Honor Roll recipients with this awesome slide show!
8th Grade Parents - Students met with high school counselors this past Tuesday & Wednesday to select their classes for next year. Should you have any questions, please contact Larissa Zelisko at the high school.

Raise Craze Registration Reminder - As we strive to foster a culture of kindness and community involvement at Westmont JR High, we are excited about our upcoming Raise Craze fundraiser. However, we've noticed that registration numbers are significantly lower than anticipated, and we need your support to ensure every student participates.
We aim for 100% participation and the deadline is fast approaching on Friday, February 23rd. Participation not only benefits our school community but also instills valuable lessons of kindness in our students.
Registration Instructions:
- For Students Under 13: A parent must assist in the registration process. Please follow the steps below to ensure your child is registered properly.
- For Students Over 13: They can register for Raise Craze starting today, either at home or during their STAR period. Information has already been shared with them.
Important Notes:
- 7th and 8th Graders: Please register again using your CUSD 201 email address on your Chromebook.
- Deadline: We are aiming for all students to be registered by Friday, February 23rd.
How to Register:
- Visit the Registration Link Using Your Student’s Chromebook: https://my.raisecraze.com/AQ52RAW/
- Click on Westmont JR High PTO button.
- Enter your student’s school email address that ends in @g.cusd201.org (found in Skyward under the Student Info tab).
- Parent’s Date of Birth: Required if your student is under 13.
- Enter your student’s name. Photo upload is optional.
- Select 3+ Acts of Kindness (AOKs) your student commits to doing between 2/26 – 3/15. Encourage them to select more during Panther Paws for Kindness and feel free to add custom AOKs.
- Enter email addresses for family, neighbors, or friends. Raise Craze handles all communication, ensuring privacy and simplicity.
- Finalize the registration by clicking next.
After Registration:
Please ensure your student knows how to log in and track their Acts of Kindness. This step is important for their active participation and learning experience. Last year, many students needed additional guidance, so we appreciate your support in guiding them through this process.
Thank you for helping us spread kindness!
