J2Launch.
Once done, these tiles can be shared with the school, classes or even individual users.
The example below shows one I used recently to place all the resources needed for a unit of work in one place.
Just think of those really useful sites for younger pupils that have a hideously long web address and how much easier it'd be if it was accessible by clicking a tile!
Course Content
J2Launch
The course will show you how easy it is to create and manage tiles in J2Launch and share them with specific users. You will be shown how to link to sites and also any documents you might have created and/or uploaded to your own My files area.
Sharing Files with Pupils
One of the many strengths of J2E is the ability for staff to create files that are easily shared with pupils: E.g a writing frame.
Participants will be shown how easily this can be done and how to share these files with pupils either by placing them in a shared files area or linking directly to them by creating a tile in J2Launch.
This approach can also be used to share images with pupils. E.g, those taken on a visit that wouldn't be available via a search engine.
J2Webby
J2Webby is a much under-used part of the J2E Toolkit. It is a Wordpress-based site that is specifically designed to showcase work created in the J2E Toolkit.
Participants will be shown:
How pupils are able to publish work to J2Webby
How to moderate that work and make it live on the site
How to create specific categories so that work can be sent to specific topic areas. See image below.
Examples of J2Webby sites in Use
Mayflower Primary This one is pretty all-encompassing.
Surrey Square. Stripped down and direct.
To gain most benefit from the workshop participants should bring with them, or have online access to any relevant files and web addresses they will be using with pupils.
It would also be useful if some pupils had published some work that could be moderated during the afternoon.
AOB
- Creating specific groups in J2Launch to share resources with. E.g. Creating a mixed Y3/4 Class from the default Y3 and Year 4 classes. See below for another example.
- Creating a QR code Log-In for younger pupils.
- Creating QR codes in general.
