Update from Mr. Roper
Hello Students, Staff, and Parents of Holly Area Schools,
I would like to provide you with an update on the last day of school for the 2018 - 2019 school year. It came to our attention last Friday that Gov. Whitmer signed House Bill 4206 to forgive additional snow days that occurred while Michigan was under a State of Emergency due to extreme cold temperatures during the 2018 - 2019 school year.
However, it wasn’t until late Thursday May 16, that we were able to receive official word from the Michigan Department of Education that Holly Area Schools would qualify to use these additional forgiveness days. With this recent news, our official last day of school will be a half-day on Friday, June 14th. This was the original last day of school for this calendar year. Our website calendars will be updated early next week to reflect this change.
Thank you for your patience and support as we eagerly waited for a final announcement from the Michigan Department of Education. Have a great weekend and Go Bronchos!
Sincerely,
Scott Roper, Superintendent Holly Area Schools
