Keeping the Crew up to Date! Volume 1 Issue 35 - 5/15/22
Greetings Clipper Nation!
Some of our students and staff are on the end of the year count down, while others are thinking about all they need to accomplish before the year ends. As I reviewed progress report grades, I noticed a few of our students had some pretty low progress report grades and have some work to do before school ends. If you haven't already done so, be sure to check the family portal and encourage your students to finish strong. For those who have struggled this year, summer school will be at no cost and transportation will be provided. Be sure to check out the details below.
We had a great Rising Senior night as our current juniors and their families came out to get a jump start on their senior year. If you missed that session, the county is doing an additional session that might be similar, and it is open to students and parents in grades 8-11. Be sure to check out the details below.
Senior parents, just a reminder to stay up to date, check out https://www.wcboe.org/jmb22 or https://www.smore.com/ma57b - Another senior message will go out Monday evening as we prepare for the mandatory senior meeting on the 19th and prom on the 21st.
Athletic awards will be taking place on May 23rd at 5 pm in the auditorium. Students who should attend should have received an invitation.
As we approach the end of the year just a few reminders about attendance.
-Only 5 parent notes are permitted per year.
-Notes are due within 5-days of the absence.
-Will accept medical, military, MVA, job interviews, and college visits with supporting documentation for future absences to be excused.
-If a student has reached 5 or more unexcused absences, the student can sign up and attend attendance recovery (Step-Up Program) before the program ends on May 26, 2022, to avoid failing the term.
-If your student is out sick, please submit notes as soon as the student returns. Notes should be dropped off in the office or sent by email to JMBAttendance@wcboe.org.
-Please check emails (including their spam boxes) weekly for attendance emails from the school.

How do I Stay in the Know?
The best way to stay in the know is to make sure we have accurate information on file. Please look over all the information on the Student Personal Data and Enrollment Information Form as this is the information we currently have on file for you. Make any corrections to the form in blue. If you need additional space for emergency contact use a separate sheet of paper. Sign the back of the form and return it to the school. If you prefer to fill out a new form you can find a copy on our website.
