Message from the Principal

Hello Prairie Families,

We've had a lot of fun at Prairie this week and we've also done a lot of learning! Our fourth and fifth-grade students put on an awesome concert on Tuesday evening for a packed house. They showcased student choreographed dances, beautiful singing, and many student narrator voices were highlighted. Shout out to Mrs. Wirth for her planning and preparation! Today the whole school came together for a sing-along in the gym. We had fun singing holiday songs in our pajamas. Mr. Booth transformed into the Grinch all week with a fun-filled scooter game in p.e. class!

We had a surprise visitor from Playworks stop out today at the end of our sing-along. He was here to recognize Prairie for being the Playworks Partner School of the Month! Prairie was selected this month as the top school out of 52 schools in Wisconsin who are implementing Playworks. We were selected due to all of the fun our students and staff are having at recess through safe, inclusive games that students are choosing to engage in at recess. Way to go Prairie students and staff!

Winter break is a time of reflection for me. I am incredibly thankful to be a part of the Prairie family. I continue to be impressed by the outpouring of love and support that teachers here show students and that families show to our school. Thank you for helping us to ensure that all of our students at Prairie are safe, happy and able to learn and grow when they are with us. I'm also excited to share that our Prairie family will be growing by one this spring... my family and I are expecting our second baby in April! I will share more information with our staff and families about my leave and the plans surrounding it as it becomes available.

Have a great holiday break!

Carly Solberg
