Valley updates for the week 11/8-11/12
AcademicsIt will be a normal week schedule. Tuesday, November 9th will be an Encore day. The building supply of masks is running extremely low and we cannot assure we will be able to supply disposable masks. Students will need to start bringing masks from home. After 8:20 AM, all doors lock and students and visitors will need to come through the North Main Entrance. It is against building policy to allow another student into the building through a door other than the North Main Entrance. Please join us for the November Valley/VSW PTO meeting on Thursday, November 11th at 12:00 noon. The meeting will be held virtually via a Zoom webinar using the following link. Dracula will take place Friday, November 5th and Saturday, November 6th at 7:00 PM in the Staplin Performing Arts Center. There is also a matinee on Sunday, November 7th at 2:00 PM. Go get 'em Cheerleaders!! There are only 2 days left in the Food Bank of Iowa challenge in raising money and food for hungry Iowans (last week there were 21?). Valley High School will be hosting its annual Dodgeball tournament on November 22nd at 7 pm. All proceeds will benefit YES Shelters. Forms must be completed and turned in BEFORE November 17th. Students who turn in forms after this date WILL NOT be able to participate Last day to order senior recognition/baby ads is Nov. 19. To order: go to www.yearbookordercenter.com, enter code 3694, click on yearbook ads->Buy a Yearbook Ad in the upper right, and follow the easy steps for designing and submitting. Ads are available in 1/4-page and 1/2-page sizes. Senior portrait proofs are now posted; please make any corrections by Nov. 17. Go to bit.ly/2022seniorportraitfolder to view portrait proofs. Registration for Tiger Archery Club is now open through Monday, November 8th for VHS/VSW students. Checks can be mailed to Jordan Creek Elementary attn: Tiger Archery Club, 4105 Fuller Rd. WDM, 50265, or Venmo @TigerArchery-Club (last 4 digits are 8756 with photo of a target with arrows). Fees per family are: 1 archer-$75, 2 archers-$100 and 3 archers-$125. Chess Club has resumed match play Tuesdays after school in the Media Center. Students who are interested in poetry, prose or artwork are encouraged to submit their work to Ms. Perry (perrye@wdmcs.org) for a chance to be featured in Valley's literary magazine, Ink. Prayer Club meets Friday morning at 7:20 AM in Mrs. Stanfel's room, 1607. Come for breakfast, fellowship and prayer. Join the Greenhouse Club in room 1329 the first and third Wednesdays of each month after school. Gender Sexuality Alliance (GSA) meets Thursdays 3:30-4:15 in room 3422. Join us for Anime Club every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 7:30 AM in Ms. Stanfel's Room 1607. |
