What is Recreational Therapy?

Recreational Therapy services meet physical, social, emotional, & cognitive needs individual to your child.

All interventions are carried out after an in-depth assessment and are designed to meet the child's needs while catering to their current interests; music, art, sports, outdoors, etc.

Recreational Therapy as a related service

Recreational Therapy is a related service and can be added to a child's IEP.

Nebraska's Rule 51 section (003.49) on related services lists: therapeutic recreation, among other services.

Therapeutic Recreation services are to be carried out by a CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist)
