This weekend, fifth grader Avery Zhang won first place in the elementary section at the annual Maine Individual Chess Tournament. He now advances to the John D Rockefeller III National Elementary School Individual Championship in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Congratulations Avery!

Our third graders had an exciting Thursday when the Chewonki Traveling Natural History visited Weatherbee! During the Owls of Maine presentation, students learned about the habits and adaptations of Maine's native owls, while getting to observe a live owl named Caribou! In the Tidal Pools presentation, students got a hands on experience learning about the three zones of Maine’s rocky intertidal ecosystem and touched some of the ocean’s most magnificent species. Thank you to our amazing PTO for sponsoring this educational event for our students!

Our lost and found is piling up! We have lots of hats, mittens, water bottles and miscellaneous clothing. If your child is missing something, please come check it out or have them come to the office and we can help them. All remaining items will be donated during April vacation.
