Principal's Message
We had a great 3 day week. It was just the perfect time for all student to get acclimated back to school routines. I had fun hearing about their adventures over break, but most of all I was excited to see the smiles on their faces as they walked into the building. I am beyond thankful for that. I'd also like to take a minute to celebrate and thank Officer Cundiff and all the members of our School Board. These men and women work together with us to ensure that our students are safe and receive the very best. Thank you for all you do.

Nurse Hardy will then be in contact with you regarding any needed next steps.
Lastly, as the weather continues to get colder, please don't forget to send your children with appropriate winter attire. Stay warm!
Be you and be happy,
Principal Balderas

Inclement Weather Procedures
When inclement weather is a possibility, Prosper ISD district officials continually monitor weather conditions during the overnight and early morning hours. The district takes several factors into consideration before making a decision to cancel school, delay school, or dismiss school early due to inclement weather. These primary factors include:
The health, safety, and welfare of students and staff; and the safe transport of students and staff to school.
Teenage drivers on the roads and their safety
Cancellations, Delays, and Early Releases – How Decisions are Made
When inclement weather threatens normal school operations, the following steps are taken:
District officials evaluate the roadways and travel conditions across the district.
The Superintendent consults with Prosper ISD transportation staff and district safety and security personnel.
After taking into account all the information that is received from external and internal sources, the Superintendent will make a decision as early as possible whether to delay or cancel school.
The Communication Process – What Happens Next
When a decision is made to cancel school, delay school, or dismiss school early, the district will notify parents using Blackboard Connected through email, phone, and text notification alerts and the Prosper ISD website will be updated as quickly as possible.
Information about school closures, delays, or early dismissal will also be communicated through the following media, including but not limited to:
Prosper ISD Twitter: @ProsperISD
Prosper ISD Facebook
Prosper Instagram: @prosper_isd
Local television stations
Local radio stations
Because of the uncertainty of weather conditions, we ask that parents and staff monitor local media, the Prosper ISD website, and email before heading to school or sending children to the bus stop. An important rule of thumb to note is, if there is no announcement from Prosper ISD, then classes will be held on a normal schedule.
Visitor Lunches- Cafeteria or Picnic Style
We will continue offer lunch inside the cafeteria on the stage and outside by the garden. There will still only be 6 spots for each lunch each day. Please only sign up for one lunch a month unless spots are still available. If you are eating in the cafeteria on the stage with your child, we ask that there are only 2 adults per child. You will check-in at the front office.
As a reminder, if you are eating outside, you will meet a staff member at the back door by the cafeteria with your child and badge. After lunch, your child will meet back up with his/her class at that same location.
If you choose to check your child out, you will need to go around to the front of the building to the front office to check him/her out.
Monday will continue to be reserved for lunch bunches with Ms. Balderas.
Visiting Author and SEL Coach Talk
On February 4th from 8:00-8:45 in the Rucker cafeteria, authors of the Feel Better Book Series, Holly Brochmann and Leah Bowen will be joining our SEL Coach, Tiffany Frezza to discuss and share strategies that will help lead to success in the classroom and at home.
If you are interested in attending, please fill out THIS form. If you have any questions, please contact seoconnor@prosper-isd.net.
