Building Pathways To Success
From The Principal's Desk August 16, 2020
Welcome back to school! Tomorrow is the BIG day! We are excited to be starting another great year. I hope this SMORE finds you doing well and ready to begin our virtual learning experience.
By this time, parents should have received a contact from their child's teacher. Teachers have uploaded new rosters in Class Dojo and messages should have gone out. If you have not connected with your child's teacher, please let us know. All students should be able to access their teacher through their Classlink accounts. Please have them log on at 8:00 AM to allow a window of time for troubleshooting if needed. Teachers will record their daily lessons and have them accessible for students and parents. Please allow time for the streaming of recordings to upload. This could take a few hours. We have seen the recordings as soon as 2 hours to 24. We will monitor closely over the first few days to ensure we have a clear picture of how the recordings are posting and how you are able to access them. If you have any questions, email your child's teacher directly or message them on Class Dojo.
We will continue to use Messenger, Infinite Campus, emails, Class Dojo and the school website to get information to you. We try to duplicate messages on all communication methods to ensure that you get information.
All teachers will follow the district learning packets for weeks 1 and 2. As teachers adjust instruction, they will notify parents. All of our teachers will also provide online live instruction daily. They will provide a balanced approach of synchronous (live online with teacher) and asynchronous (self-paced learning by student) instruction.
Learning packets for week #1 are available via hard copy at the school and can be found at the links below:
District Special Education information can be found here:
IMPORTANT It is important that each parent register for your Infinite Campus Parent Portal Account. Please register as soon as possible. This will be important for access to daily lessons with teachers via your child's Classlink account. All students have a Classlink account and it is a one stop shop for all instructional sessions. Students previously enrolled have access now, this did not change. New students will be provided steps to log on by their teachers during Open House.
Are you registered for your Parent Portal Account? If not, please register. Everything you need as a parent is in the parent portal account. You are able to monitor your student's grades throughout the school year, review your child's schedule, pull report cards, update your contact information, register other students within your household, and so much more! Please click the link provided to register.
*Please note, if you DO NOT have an email address on file, you will be unable to register via the provided link. Please call the school and ask for our Data Clerk, Ms. Lyles.
***Managing COVID-19 creates a constantly changing environment for our school district, and our school leaders and teachers are working diligently to adjust with those changes. Check out the new Fulton County information page where the district has gathered resources to help make the start of school successful for our students and their families. If you have any additional questions not addressed here, please contact your school. Please check back for updates and changes.
Included in this correspondence are very important Learning Opportunities for parents. Please see the self-paced learning flyer for parents. These include helpful links for parents to learn more about our various tools and platforms that students and parents will be utilizing during URL. on system.
