Health Office Update -
Cold and Flu season is in full swing! Just a reminder, each Woodridge 68 school has a health office staffed by a Health Aide. Our Health Aides are here to help assess illness/injury concerns, provide basic first aid, administer prescription medication as directed by physicians, collaborate with our district nurses to support illness and injury concerns, and provide comfort care to children (i.e. ice packs, band-aids, etc.). Our health aides cannot administer any over-the-counter medical products without proper authorization.
With the cold weather also comes dry skin, and we encourage the use of lotion/chapstick/vaseline at home before school to avoid the loss of learning time. If you wish, you can send in any lotion, chapstick, vaseline, or non-medicated over-the-counter item for your child's personal use along with a note authorizing their use at school. While we are also unable to provide cough drops for students, you may supply them for your child's short-term usage (not to exceed 5 days).
If you have any questions about health care needs and support for your child, please do not hesitate to contact our District Nurse, Cindy Dore, at 630-971-7777.
Thanks!
Anne
