. Wilson favored New Freedom, criticizing Monopolies believing they should be destroyed, which helped him win the election.

Reforming Tariffs
. Underwood Tariff Act- levies income tax
Contribution-progressive because lower taxes make lower prices and consumers will buy more
Bank Reform
Contribution-It helps regulate the circulation of money to businesses and to people
Antitrusts
. Progressive because it breaks down monopolies and gives the consumers a variety of products and increases competition, furthering the economy.

. The NAACP was created but did not meet with Wilson and progress
Amendments by Wilson
16th (February 3, 1913) - income tax.
17th (April 8, 1913) - Direct election of senators.
18th (January 16, 1919) - Prohibition
19th (August 18, 1920) - suffrage.
Progressive -the people as a whole have a larger voice because women can vote and senators are voted for directly by the people so they have more representation (17th/19th).
Prohibition has people spending more money on different goods other than alcohol (18th).
Levys on income taxes keeps influence and extra power away from larger corporations (16th).
