Our Week of Learning...

The week before holiday break is always so exciting with lots of fun activities planned!

We were able to attend the 2nd grade dress rehearsal, watch another edition of Good Morning Williamsburg, listen to the 5th grade orchestra play a couple holiday songs, watch a Magic School Bus Lost In Space video, and participate in our fun-filled holiday party!!

  • in math, we finished the telling time portion of our module and took a quiz. Measurement is up next after the holidays! Please continue to practice telling time and figuring out elapsed time with your learner!
  • We had fun learning about holiday traditions around the world!! Ask your learner what they learned about holidays in Canada, Australia/New Zealand, France, Germany and Japan!
  • In writing, the students finished their persuasive papers to Santa. They were VERY convincing!! I hope the students find themselves on the "Nice List" this year! Based on their writing, I bet they will!

Holiday Party!

Our holiday party was a success, as always!! Fun was had by all! The students rotated classrooms and enjoyed a movie and snack, made a craft, and played many fun games!! Thank you to everyone who joined us and took part in making the party as amazing as it was!

Random Acts of Kindness...

Way to go 3rd graders on ALL of those Random Acts of Kindness!!

Over break...

Over break please keep your learner reading and practicing multiplication facts in a fun and engaging way.

Below are two links. One is to the link to the fluency project that Mrs. Potaczek created. This link will take your learner to multiplication games and videos. The second link is to our class Symbaloo page. Symbaloo is a website where I keep links to our frequently used websites. The students may log onto Symbaloo and head to any of the sites that we use in class for reading, math, and spelling practice.

Star of the Week...Nickolas!!

Nickolas has an older sister, a dog and many fish. He enjoys playing video games and playing with friends. His favorite food is Chinese food and his favorite subject is science. Nickolas hopes to someday be a paleontologist. He also enjoys Legos and brought in a cool castle he made to share with the class. Great job, Nickolas!!

Thank you...

I want to extend a very heartfelt thank you for all of your support, kind words, and very generous gifts this holiday season. The students had a lot of fun opening my gifts with me!! I feel truly truly blessed to be doing what I love with such an amazing group of students and parents! I hope everyone has a warm and wonderful winter break!
