Newsletter Week 8 Term 4
Shelly Park School - Wednesday 7 December 2022
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Whānau
I wanted to send out another newsletter before the end of the term to let you know about some staff changes for 2023.
Staff Arriving
Next year we will have three new teachers joining Shelly Park. Ayesha Dewan (ex pupil), Megan Davis and Rhiannon Courtney. We are really excited to have these new teachers joining our team. We know that these teachers will fit in beautifully to our school and we are looking forward to the energy and passion they will bring.
Staff Leaving
With new teachers arriving that means we have some teachers moving on.
Derryn Chapman will be moving on to a new role with the Ministry of Education. Derryn will be working as an RTLB teacher. This is Derryn's passion and we know that she will be amazing in this new role. She has been an amazing Pod 1 teacher and she will be missed. Thank you for all you have given to Shelly Park.
Kim Higham will also be moving on next year. Kim will be moving to Tauranga and has recently accepted a job down there as an intermediate school teacher. Kim's family lives in Tauranga, so the move just made sense to her. Kim has given so much to our school, particularly in her roles as a senior school teacher and organiser of school sport. Kim has left a huge impression on so many students over her 8 years at our school. Kim, we wish you all the very best for the next stage of life and your career.
Smaranda Balais left our school at the end of Term 3 this year. Smaranda has decided to take a break from teaching and we know that whatever she decides to do next, she will be amazing at it.
