Rising 6th Grade Night (Optional)

We will hold a rising 6th grade night on Tuesday, May 17th from 5:30PM-6:00PM. During this time parents and students will hear a very short presentation that will start promptly at 5:30PM and will have a few minutes to tour the building. We will hold a new student orientation in August that will include more detailed information.

Swarming into 6th Grade (Optional)

We will have a 6th grade orientation camp that will be on August 3rd & 4th at FMMS from 10AM-1PM. The flyer is attached with directions on how to register and pay the $25 fee on the FMSD pay fees account. All students attending the 2-day camp will receive a FMMS T-shirt!

The registration google form and payment must be completed by June 1st!

All participating students will have the opportunity to:

• Meet some of our 6th grade teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators
• Become familiar with the 6th grade hall, related arts hall, class transitions, bell schedule, combination locks, and other important 6th grade tips and tricks!
• Most importantly, get to know their new school!!!

6th Grade Band (previously communicated on March 31st)

5th Grade Hall Crawl- immediately following the 5th grade promotion ceremony, attending parents/guardians will be invited to stand along the sidewalks on the 4th/5th grade playground to cheer on your 5th graders as they walk the walkways for one of the final times as an FMES student. Please feel free to makes signs and cheer loudly for all our amazing students. You will have the opportunity to sign your 5th grade student out from their homeroom AFTER this hall crawl has completed. While younger siblings cannot attend the ceremony, they will be participating in the hall crawl in the halls and on a separate playground. If you wish to dismiss a younger sibling after the hall crawl is complete, please do this from the main office. You will not be able to sign out younger siblings from their homerooms.
