Calling all Super Eagles to Participate in "Adopt-A-Mile" This Sunday
Evansdale has been chosen for the Adopt-A-Mile Program for the Atlanta 10-Miler. We can earn over $5,000 to improve Evansdale’s outdoor basketball court and perform needed maintenance to the track on lower field, including a running path! We need your help: join the “Show Us Your Super Power” Cheer Zone at Mile 5.
Sunday October 23, 7:30-11:00 a.m. (arrive by 6:45 because the roads will close).
Cheer Zone Location: Northside Dr. along Bobby Jones golf course.
Parking: Park at Bitsy Grant Tennis Center or Wilson Street.
Come help cheer on the runners. We get more money for every adult and child, and extra for cheering with enthusiasm. Children must be accompanied by an adult..

ELT at Evansdale this Week
The ELT in 3rd grade has researched both recycling and composting and have voted on the topics. The results are that a recycling program would be best. Now they have to write a proposal and present it to Ms. Chattman.
In the next few weeks the whole ELT group will begin collecting data about trash here at Evansdale and what could be recycled.
As you can probably tell this project has turned out to be very STEM heavy. They are collecting lots of data, generating questions, listing possible benefits, etc. If you are interested in helping or being involved with any of this process we are happy to have you. They started the project but they won't be able to finish it alone. I have no idea how small this project may stay or how big it may become.

Letters for the Troops
Hello everyone!
I'm sure many of you are familiar with the morning show The Bert Show. Every year around this time they collect handwritten letters to send to the troops overseas in time for Thanksgiving. This year one of my students asked if we could participate, so I am having my class write handwritten letters for the soldiers. If anyone else would like to participate, I can collect all of the letters and take them to the radio station. If you and your family would like to participate please bring your letters to the front office by no later than Wednesday, October 26. Also, if you want to know more information about the Bert Show Big Thank you, here is the link to their website http://thebertshow.com/bigthankyou/
Sincerely,
Casey Linton, 3rd Grade Teacher
