SLPHS Families,
I want to welcome you to spring, but my extended drive to school this morning seemingly calls that in to question. So, I will wish for warmer days ahead, for all of us!
ACT Testing for Juniors is April 5
We have entered trimester 3 and while spring may elude us a bit longer, testing season is upon us. We are wrapping up MCA testing this week. On April 5, we will be administering the ACT college admissions exam at SLPHS to all Juniors (grade 11). There is no cost to families for the administration of the ACT.
As we administer the ACT and work to create an ideal testing environment for our juniors, April 5 will be a distance/asynchronous learning day for students in grades 9, 10 and 12. Students in these grades will be learning from home on April 5. All staff in the building will be engaged in supporting the administration of the ACT test and the students who are taking it. More information about ACT testing can be found in the Need to Know section below.
Career Fair - April 6
We are hosting a Career Fair for all SLPHS students on April 6 during the day. Students will have an opportunity to interact with 100+ professionals across a multitude of industry pathways. We look forward to the exposure and opportunity to promote post-secondary considerations with our students in collaboration with so many community and industry partners.
Please encourage your student to take full advantage of this unique opportunity and ask them about it afterward. It is our hope that opportunities like these help students discover a career path that aligns with their strengths and interests and also reinforces the importance of what they are learning now and how it contributes to their success beyond high school.
Report Cards
One quick reminder, report cards for the end of trimester 2 are posted in Campus Parent Portal. If you have questions or need help, please reach out to your child’s teacher(s) or our office.
Thank as always for your ongoing partnership. One school, one community #SLPPantherProud!
