Causes of eating disorders

-Low self esteem

-Feeling of no control

-Depression

-Anxiety

-Anger

Anorexia Nervosa

Anorexia nervosa is a eating disorder in which the person refuses to maintain a healthy weight, has an intense fear of gaining weight, or even a distorted body image.


Symptoms include, Dieting even when thin, Obsession with calories and nutritional facts, Pretending or lying about eating. Also strange or secretive food rituals.


If your not eating of course its gonna be unhealthy, some long terms effects of anorexia nervosa are; Anemia, Heart problems, Kidney problems, Bone less, Absence of period and or testosterone.

Bulimia Nervosa

Bulimia nervosa is somewhat like anorexia except the person eating high amounts of food and afterwards purges by vomiting and or using laxatives.


Symptoms include, Scarring on knuckles from sticking fingers down throat, puffy cheeks due to vomiting, Discolored teeth from stomach acids, Frequent weight fluctuations.


Long term effects include but are not limited too; chronic sore throat, Tooth decay and mouth sores, acid reflux, ruptured stomach, broken blood vessel in the eyes.

Binge Eating

Binge eating is when someone is angry, or depressed and in comfort eats large amounts of food and does not stop until satisfied and continues feeling angry and or depressed.


Symptoms are; Eating large amounts of food quickly, Eating when full, Hiding food to eat in secret, not being able to control what you eat.


Long term effects are; Type 2 diabetes, gallbladder disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol.

How and where to get help!

All of these are eating disorders, and getting help can be hard but heres some tips. Because eating disorders are a mental problem going to a mental institution might help, Maybe going to a group therapy session or just having family help you. Either way you pick getting help for these diseases is essential for being healthy, life your life and dont throw your dice.
