Forbidden Strawberries

By Cipora Hurwitz

Cipora Hurwitz was a six year old Jew who lived with her mother father, brothers, aunt, uncle, and cousins in Hrubieszow, Poland in the 1940s. She is forced to revisit her hometown when she is much older to provide a tour to young children and teach them what she and thousands of others witnessed and went through during Hitler's rage. As she tells her testimony of surviving the Holocaust to a couple of reporters, she becomes sucked back into the terrifying, devastating life that she once lived when she was just a small child.
