Economic Literacy Colorado seeks to help educators teach money matters
"For the last decade, Brent Carmichael, a teacher at Windsor Middle School, has been bringing the stock market to his Windsor students. That’s thanks in part to a group called Economic Literacy Colorado, which works with teachers in the state to train them to teach financial literacy, economics, and the stock market, among other similar ventures."

WMS Spring Musical: Shrek Jr. Informational Meeting
Interested in this year’s Spring Musical? Join us on Tuesday, January 21st at 3:15pm in the WMS Choir/Drama Room. We will be discussing auditions, applications for backstage jobs and answering questions about this year’s musical! Auditions and interviews will be held February 24th through 28th and performances this year are April 16th-18th.
See you there!
You're Invited!
You are invited to a community meeting on January 21st at 6:30pm at Windsor Middle School to learn more about potential renovation plans for our school.
As our school district makes plans to potentially request funding in November 2020 for two new elementary schools, adding capacity at Severance Middle School and Windsor Middle School (WMS), and investing in the maintenance and improvements of all district facilities, it will apply for a Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST) grant from the Colorado Department of Education.
BEST grants are highly competitive and are prioritized for the worst-condition school facilities in the state. We believe the unusable portion of WMS, the 1927 building, may be a good candidate for funding.
The January 21 meeting is the second community meeting the district is hosting to get feedback on possible construction scenarios for WMS and to discuss the BEST application process in more detail.
8th Grade Parent Night
Windsor High School principal, Michelle Scallon would like to invite our 8th grade families to 8th Grade Parent Night on Wednesday, January 29th at Windsor High School. The evening will begin in the main gym of Windsor High School (located on the north side of campus) at 5:00pm. Families will have the opportunity to visit with all academic departments as well as coaches and club sponsors. At 6:00pm, activities will move to the auditorium (located in the same building as the gym) for a fun-filled, informative session with administration and counselors.
Questions can be directed to Windsor High School at 970-686-8100.
Tardy Policy Reminder
A student is tardy if they are not in the required classroom or teaching station when the passing period has ended. There are two types of tardies:
Excused - with another staff member or administrator (get a pass from that teacher before going to the next class), extreme circumstances in the morning at home (car trouble, illness, etc. - Parents or guardians are asked to call or write a note including the reason for the tardy).
Unexcused - oversleeping, arriving at class late without a pass from a staff member, going to the lockers or restroom and arriving late (asking the teacher first before going will eliminate being counted tardy), arriving at school late with no note or a call, or repeated morning tardies. This also includes in between class tardies.
