Team Leader Meeting Notes
NOTES FROM TEAM MEETING
Student Services will trump academic lunch. If a student has an assigned academic lunch, and is also scheduled to meet with social worker, or has group session, the services come first. Student services department will go into database and indicate if student is needed, and or communicate with Academic Lunch supervisor if they need them.
Still waiting on Door Stops, can someone please email Pat Crean and see when we can get them?(Email Pat) Door stops back?
Bus Evacuation Drill: Shirley will email transportation about two possible dates: 10/18 or 10/23
Student of the Month Dates SOM: The last Thursday of every month in session. will be student of the month (7th and 8th grade) 6th Grade will be the last Friday of the month. October 25th is the next one. Fill out Annie’s doc and input each student nominated. Annie is creating a document that will contain the student information to be read at the assembly.
We would like to have School Wide MAP schedule. This will be a alternate schedule day where all will test during ADVISORY period at the same time. Schedule to follow once dates are set for testing. Shirley will ask Steve Davis if the bandwidth will support all school in MAP test at the same time.
Timely responses for work orders being completed.-PE is concerned, they have a pending list since last March. Others have not been having work orders completed as well.
Cleanliness of certain rooms is of great concern. (Academic lunchroom, PE area bathrooms)
Advanced Class Placement or Disqualifiers-Admin will work with Daniella to send out requirements to parents ahead of time. The requirements will be made available for next school year. Math and ELA are the only advanced placements available to our students. JB will be looking to expand the foreign language via grant. Not set for sure, this will be pending grant funds being made available.
Encore/PE supports for test days. Tests last about 10 minutes. Special Ed team will work with PE/Encore team and help get them paraprofessionals for the days they have tests.
Schools to Watch Rubric- All staff will complete the rubric with the exception of new staff. You have to have been working here for a minimum of 6 months to complete the rubric-The Team Leader Group is suggesting we complete the rubric at an upcoming STAFF MEETING. This way the time is provided and staff is not expected to complete on their own.

- Create a poster/banner to welcome Jennifer to your school and welcome her on the outdoor marquee (if available)
- Select students to "host" Jennifer throughout the building; select student to introduce Jennifer at the assembly
- It would be great if we could have a student who had family in Poland during World War II introduce Jennifer. Please check and see if any of our students of Polish background would be interested.
Another key method to prepping students is to discuss what they might like to ask during the Q&A portion. Thinking ahead gets their brains focused on why the author is visiting. It helps them to formulate questions that are valuable to the reading and writing processes. Sometimes students prefer to write their questions ahead of time so that they don’t forget.
