Message from the Principal

Happy New Year, Wildcat Families!

It was a great week and we are happy to be back at it. Please see the info below and let me know if you have any questions.

  • You will be receiving an email next week about the health lessons that will be taught this winter. In our K-5 classrooms we will have lessons centered on growth and development. These will include information about anatomy, gender and safe touch/unsafe touch. You will read in the letter that you can preview these materials ahead of time and have the opportunity to ask me questions about the curriculum. Please be looking for that email.
  • We will have an earthquake drill on Monday. This is one of the safety response drills we practice during the year. We tell kids that it is just practice but also let them know that these drills need to be taken very seriously. HERE is a little more information about the drills we run. Please call with questions.
  • In the coming weeks we will have students complete the winter I-Ready assessment. There is one for reading and one for math. These are important because they help teachers understand what each student needs more support on AND it sets up the I-Ready practice activities- MyPath. MyPath is personalized practice for each student based on what they show they need more support in by taking the assessments. These assessments take about 60 minutes and are pretty painless.
  • We continue to follow the everchanging COVID and Quarantine protocols and timelines. I know that these can be confusing. Generally speaking, these are determined by our state health department (OHA), then our county (Washington), then our school district health team (TTSD) and then we make local decisions here at CFT- based on what we are told. We are always here and available to talk through COVID situations and we really appreciate your partnership.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Mr. Blasquez/ Mr. B, Principal

Sr. Blasquez / Sr. B, Director

Message from Food Services

Due to the recent disruptions and delays from our supply and food service vendors across the district, there will be times when our school may not receive expected food/drink items. In addition, there may be last -minute changes to the menu, substitutions for some items, or the absence of some items like bread or milk. Our district and school food service teams are working hard to use the food items available each day to create healthy meals for our students.

As we navigate these uncertain times, it is important to work together to put temporary solutions in place. In the meantime, if your student typically gets milk at lunch, please be sure to send a water bottle with your student in case milk is not available.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Kim Leung, the District Food Service Manager, at (503) 431-4061 or email her at kleung@ttsd.k12.or.us.

Information if you are participating in the OHSU COVID Testing
